Hi Folks, I live in the Northwest Territories, Canada, and have been in land management for a decade and have seen many changes. There are many challenges. We have vast tracts of land that remain unsurveyed. Community residents are trying to gain tenure to their land and both federal and territorial governments have been accomodating. Land claim issues pose obstacles also. Both government have signed Interim Measures Agreements that commit them to consult, and in some cases get written consent, to the disposition of vacant Crown and Territorial land. It's quite an interesting career to be in. With all it's complexities, the pool of qualified land administrators is small.
Since there were no posts on this subject, I thought I'd open up the floor.
